The Bison Selfie Rule

At Yellowstone National Park, a bison selfie can be much more dangerous than it looks. The National Park Service warns visitors to stay at least 25 yards away from bison and other large animals. Bison may look calm while standing still, but they are powerful wild animals and can move quickly when disturbed. That is why the rule exists. A tourist leaning close for a photo may think they are creating a funny memory, but the animal does not understand selfies. The safest picture is the one taken from a distance. Some rules are written because people forget nature is not a prop.
