7: Salt Crystals
Salt is one of the most common things in any kitchen, but under a close-up lens it looks completely different. The tiny grains appear like clear crystals, broken ice, or small mountain rocks. Some pieces shine like glass, while others look cloudy and rough. It is surprising to realize that something we sprinkle on food has such sharp and detailed shapes. A pinch of salt may seem plain, but close up it looks like a frozen landscape.
